SECONDSITE - BIM VISUALIZATION
The Second Site system utilizes advancements in augmented visualization technology to assist firms
in the areas of architectural representation, streamlined correspondence, and accuracy of building construction.
While architects and construction managers continue to embrace past and recent technological advancements in communication and production, these industries still rely upon a paper model that can hamper efficiency, communication and ultimately the project time line. Unique use of BIM modeling, augmented visualization technology, and streamlined business communications, gives us the opportunity to chart a new more efficient pathway from conceptual design through to physical construction. Recent advancements in digital visualization technology have created an opportunity to develop a system allowing for instant, accurate, and effective communication to mitigate construction errors and ultimately shorten the time it takes to do business.
SecondSite's primary objective is to facilitate correspondence between architects, project managers, and clients through the deployment of advanced visualization/communications technologies. Specifically, SecondSite will provide a contracted service to manage and standardize data communications between the design/build industries primarily for commercial or municipal construction projects. Each particular contract/project will be serviced by an internal SecondSite team who will mirror available design information for a project, then compile it into a single digital model for use by both architects and construction managers. The SecondSite visualization device then allows us to bring that data/communication directly to the job site in 3Dimensions and in real-time. The predicted result will be fewer construction errors, less time spent translating confusing 2D blueprints, and increased efficiency of production.
SecondSite will also allow for real time cross-discipline collaboration to streamline the typically overwhelming correspondence involved with any construction project. This innovation will allow architects, project managers, and clients to actually view design intentions through real-time on-site digital representation techniques. Users will have the ability to walk through a construction site and actually see a representation before them of what is to be built. This gives clients, designers, and construction manager’s unprecedented ability to catch errors, mistakes, or misunderstandings long before they can cause problems or delays for the construction process.
