SECONDSITE - BIM VISUALIZATION
The Second Site system utilizes advancements in augmented visualization technology to assist firms
in the areas of architectural representation, streamlined correspondence, and accuracy of building construction.
Front facing camera for
two-way communications
Red Flag notations
to highlight conflicts,
RFI items, punchlists, etc.
Calibration Monitor
denotes active wi-fi
signal strength and
time of last calibration
Tagging and Links
Real-time dynamic links to manufacturer's
websites.
Position Display
Floor plan & locational
indicator
ToTouch Technology - Architect and local user
have the ability to indicate items real-time
on the same screen from a remote desktop computer
Variable Transparency Slider -
allows user to vary transparency between layers
Layering
User selects from a series of layers such as
structural, millwork, plumbing, electrical, dimensions
which identifies active overlay in-use.
Navigation Tool
Used for pan, zoom, and rotate functions
FUNCTIONALITY
The Second-Site device operates in one of two modes - 'Dynamic Function' or 'Static Function' mode. One mode allows the user to actively explore a construction site for onlocation visualization while the other mode gives the user access to any part of the virtual model from any physical location on the site. The combination of these two modes gives the device it's flexibility
to be an effective tool in sometimes difficult and unpredictable construction environments.
Operations available to the user in this mode include..
Layering - Ability to toggle layers or adjust transparency between layers.
View Mode - Ability to toggle view modes from wireframe to rendered texture image
Place Cuts - Ability to place plan/section cuts for analysis on-site or for later viewing
Exploded View - Ability to move or separate components to provide visualization of particular construction methods (general construction or detail construction).
Tagging and Links - Ability to tag items with text labels for later reference and the ability to set up links to specific manufacturers when touching a particular item (material finish, structural member, electrical outlet, etc.).
Position Display - The ability to see one's current position (and the position of the camera) relative to the entire structure.
Record and Playback - Ability to actively record sessions for later playback or for permanent record of job construction.
Email - Ability to link to email to send images (or video) directly to associated team members
Calibration - Active recalibration (at adjustable time intervals) of position in relation to wireless node locations.
